FRAGMENTA - HEADBOARD
Since our appearance on earth, waking up represent the moment of highest awareness that humanity can ever experience. It is a welcoming moment into a new day, a new array of possibilities, either with a future to build or a past to celebrate. Waking up must be also a reinforcing ceremony to set all of us for the daily fight we endure every single day at every level and latitude. The African origins, the fights, the victories and the scars: every single struggle and joy has come to contribute to the living being we are and this is what this headboard is about. A kingside headboard in linen interwoven with hemp framed by hammered deer leather. On the canvas entirely crafted by hand, there are triangular segments of different sizes made in cachemire alongside with others made in gold plated crocodile leather. The cachemire, the fabric they always dreamed of while growing up humble and motivated, the gold to remind the African sunsets, the podiums they managed to climb, the reward for a life full of struggles and hopes. Over 500 hours of manual work to materialize the magic of any impossible dream, a piece of furniture to remind ourselves the journey we started and the glorious yet precarious destination we daily approach. This headboard has been designed by Davdesain.
