Red reigns supreme, gleaming rubies of the earth, swollen glans and sour cherries, transfusions and coke, pedal boats. Do we ever think how much life begins and ends in red. The smell of the dead man's nostrils, red there too; I can hear the bubbles of coke fizzing. A mania that, had I known sooner, would have made me see the world differently.
